 Itinerary Details

After being picked up from your hotel (selected hotels only) at 8:00am; we will continue to pick up other travelers in the same group before taking a 2 hours drive towards Ninh Binh town.

The first stop will be Hoa Lu ancient citadel, which was the capital of Vietnam during the Dinh (968-980) and early Le (980-1009) dynasty. Hoa Lu’s two remaining temples are set among a picturesque backdrop of the Yen Ngua Mountain, which form a natural wall protecting the old citadel. The first temple, Dinh Tien Hoang, was restored in the 17th century and is dedicated to the Dinh dynasty. The second temple is dedicated to Le Dai Hanh and features part of the excavations of the 10th-century citadel wall, unearthed in 1998.

 

Next we will proceed to Tam Coc for a short local lunch before boarding a sampan boat. Sit back and be rowed through a scenic landscape dominated by rice fields and karst towers. Here, you will enjoy sights of rugged rock formations soaring skywards from a sea of green before drifting into the 3 caves.

Among the three caves, Hang Ca is considered the most picturesque one since it is the longest and contains most fascinating natural arts deep inside. Turn back to look at the cave after leaving and you will see sights of old white-haired man sitting down for fishing, widely believed to be the home of a fairy. Continue the ride to Hang Hai where a series of colorful sparkling stalactites hang from the cave ceiling before heading to Hang Ba. After boat trip; enjoy relaxing or taking 40min with bike, cycling around villages, rice fields.

Afternoon, drive back to Hanoi; upon arrive drop off at Hanoi center.
